For about 8 years now, I've been on the pathway learning about exercise science. Entering high school, I shadowed the athletic trainer, Lauren Holliday at Stockbridge High School. With her advice and my skill set, I attended sports medicine camps at the University of Georgia and Children Healthcare of Atlanta to extend my knowledge. I attended Georgia Southern University where I gained my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science. During my time at Georgia Southern, I was selected to work as one of the athletic trainers under Dr. Marlin Stabler of YE Sports Inc. at Eric Berry’s Foundation youth football camp, where I worked on preventing injuries. I have also worked at the Recreational Activity Center at Georgia Southern as a fitness specialist, where I coordinated healthy and safe use of fitness tools, equipment, and spaces to prevent injuries. This summer I’m currently working as an intern at YMCA Statesboro where I run a “learning to lift” program for preteens and also a cardiac rehabilitation program. I am also involved in Collegiate 100 and Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity because I am very passionate about improving the community and helping others. I have mentored kids in Statesboro, where I have tutored them and helped them remain on the right track and, I have worked with Habitat of Humanity where we helped build places for low-income families to live. So, with everything I have done with Exercise Science and the community I am ready to take the next level and gain more experience by attaining a job at your establishment.
