Over the past 2 decades, I've channelled my passion for science and technology into my career in Information Technology. My strengths and main interests are enterprise infrastructure, application monitoring and event management, implementation and utilisation of enterprise tools including the Microsoft System Center suite (SCOM, SCCM, SCORCH), Azure, Dynatrace APM and SolarWinds, for monitoring and deployment both on-prem and cloud/hybrid solutions, and working with teams to improve services, with the end goal to improve the service and ICT environment as a whole. I also have a keen interest in and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Administration and configuration. I have a good depth of understanding of all things IT, and can adapt to new situations and technologies quickly.I feel what sets me apart from so many in this field is that I bring to it a wealth of life experience, excellent communication skills, and a creative mind, able to bring new ideas and perspectives to a scenario. In past years and in my spare time, I've offered consultancy and support to several local businesses and educational establishments; further establishing myself as an approachable and valuable IT professional.

CurrentAs senior engineer in the Operations team at this successful University, my main focus is on central IT infrastructure. The major part of my role however, have been on ensuring that the lights stay on by developing their systems monitoring capabilities, beginning with a top-down analysis of where they were when I joined in terms of their monitoring.
