Profile:I am a Mathematics Graduate from the University of Sheffield seeking a career in software development. I enjoy a challenge, and I am always keen to learn new skills. After spending 2 years as a data analyst, I decided to leave my role in order to expand on my coding skills and pursue a role in software development. Since then, I have learned front-end web development languages and my main focus has been the improvement of my object-oriented programming skills.Key Technical Skills: Java - Recently learned competent knowledge of Java via free online university course on object-oriented programming. Created successful Sudoku solver as a mini-project, and currently working on my own Texas Hold’em poker project.HTML/CSS/Javascript - Basic webpage created for university project.Python - Learned basic knowledge of Python at university and completed Codecademy course.R - Small university group project in modelling flow of traffic.SQL - Produced detailed reports for clients in my data analyst role, and made small general updates to data entries.Work Experience (Data Analyst):Developed problem solving, analytical and communication skills by working to complete SLAs for our clients on a team of 12 analysts in 2 separate offices. Frequent use of Excel and SQL required to analyse and update our database. Experienced face to face communication with clients by working on site. My role initially involved working across several clients in order to cover for anyone for their holiday, and learning their processes while responding to their requests / queries. This involved thinking on my feet and sometimes working under high pressure.Demonstrated the ability to learn many different processes quickly and work out of my comfort zone in scenarios where clients would have difficult requests. Also demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to solve problems with precision and efficiency.
