In 2016 I took the lead for all operations as head of the entire department. I was responsible for a large staff including the operational team. By adding additional business unit leaders I was able to more successfully integrate and run the day to day operations of the company. In addition, I led the new ownership group through a buy-out and succession plan which led to my position as CEO.

As Vice President I collaborated with the company President, sharing the duties of running all operations as well as fostering several key client relationships. I was in charge of staffing for all projects, hiring of operations personnel, and working with pre-construction on construct-ability. In addition, I managed the overall project budgets for the company’s monthly financials, dealt with personnel issues and handled client or warranty issues.In this role, I improved the operations structure by adding assistant project managers and administration staff. I was instrumental in the implementation of a project management software which led to a more professional and efficient operation.

My position was charged with the setup and administration of contracts for several concurrent projects. I managed client relationships as well as billings, buy-out, sub-contractor contract management, RFI’s, submittals, problem solving, CO management, budget management, and close-out of the projects. Retail centers and buildings, medical upfit, medical office buildings, gun ranges, restaurants, hotels, warehouse/manufacturing, tilt-up construction, office buildings, and office upfits are just a sample of the projects I built. My clients included PetSmart, CVS, Old Navy, Ross, Academy Sports, Hampton Inn, Food Lion, Levine Cancer Institute and more.

Managing field operations for commercial retail, medical, and office projects was my main task as Project Superintendent at Myers & Chapman. Additionally, I coordinated the day to day sub-contractors, scheduled all tasks, solved construct-ability issues, monitored erosion control measures, worked with municipalities for utilities and approvals, and reported all updates to a Project Manager. Primarily, I built retail strip centers with multiple tenants, medical office buildings, and CVS pharmacies.

After building over 150 single family homes in the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte markets I advanced to the position of neighborhood manager, overseeing multiple field managers who were constructing houses. On a daily basis I interacted with management on multiple levels as well as customers and homeowners. Furthermore, I scheduled and managed sub-contractors building the units, monitored quality control of the build and worked with the homeowners to ensure satisfaction throughout the entire process.
