When I first started in the railroad industry I was a laborer building and maintenancing railroad tracks. As time went by I was appointed the job of delivering briefings and getting the permits ready for that days job task. Wanting to be more than a laborer i took on the task of being a heavy equipment operator where i recieved my cerfiations on the backhoe, trackhoe, front end loader, and the tamper. After leaving the tracks I got into the tank car industry where I started off dropping valves now I am currently working on Ethylene Oxide tank cars. With this new title i verify schedules and coordinate with plant management for upcoming cars. Locate rail tank cars location in the plant and verify status of the car to ensure cars are available and scheduled to work. Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, chains and headstands.Inventory all required materials and check valves for all documentation and service availability. I also make sure all heads are clear of rust and lingering commodity from previous installation before building and bubble leaking them for scheduled OSI inspectors.
