Dr. Marcus Rhem Is a partner physician and surgeon at TLC Eyecare of Michigan, a medical and surgical eye care practice with multiple offices throughout Mid-Michigan. HHe focuses his medical and surgical practice on cataract and vision correction surgeryHe was the first surgeon to perform LASIK in Lansing, MI in 1997 and has taught LASIK to other surgeons throughout the United States. He is actively involved in clinical research and is a published author of multiple scientific papers. He is a past-president of the Ingham County Medical Society. He is on the board of directors and is the immediate past-chairman of Medical Management Affiliates. He is a member of the Michigan State Medical Society, the Ingham County Medical Society, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Heed Ophthalmic Foundation. Dr. Rhem grew up in Houston, Texas and obtained his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, before returning to Houston to attend Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Rhem completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Cullen Eye Institute in Houston, before moving to the Lansing Area in 1996.
