Managing a team of surveyors to deliver the councils cyclical capital works programmes averaging around £5-7million investment each year. Also responsible for managing the councils quality checking process with surveyors on planned and response repair jobs, raising issues found with contractors and establishing suitable outcomes where required.

Monitoring work within the current Repairs & Maintenance contract to make sure all work is compliant to the contract specification in use of materials and checking the quality of works. Approving and changes to the contract specification and materials where needed, helping contractors overcome design/work issues on site. Quality checking work carried out by contractors across the current repairs contract - Responsive repairs (circa 30,000 per annum), plus Planned Maintenance, Cyclical programmes of work and major repair/refurbishment projects on some of our high rise blocks (including external wall insulation, concrete repairs, new insulated roofs and window renewals). I also have responsibility for checking all independant leaseholder fire doors upgrades to make sure they are FD30 compliant, as well as dealing with leaseholder alteration applications.

Working with the Housing Asset database to monitor housing stock and their attributes, and to help prepare programmes of work needed to help bring the housing stock up to decency levels. To also produce layouts and detailed designs for housing stock re-design and refurbishment. This included designs and 3D modeling some for some regeneration work of disused land, and also assisting in the refurbishment of existing housing stock to maximise stock housing potential and accommodating extensions, including site visits to check works carried out.

Working within the council's housing surveying team to identify housing repairs repairs, appoint contractors and produce work specifications, and authorise payment for work.To visit sites and monitor work and progress, liaising with tenants, housing management and contractors.

Speaking with tenants to help identify responsive repairs needed to the councils housing stock, to raise repair orders and allocate them to the appropriate contractors, with the correct timescales associated to each job type. Where jobs would be more in depth or in need of intrusive exploration works, allocating jobs to the council's surveying team.
