As School Captain in both Year 6 and Year 12, I have developed leadership skills and a relentless drive for success. This has developed my skills in high pressure situations, leading by example and effectively coordinating teams to achieve shared goals. As a trusted advocate, I actively engaged with faculty and administration staff to address student concerns on their behalf and provide valuable insights to shape school policies. Through diplomacy, negotiation and a genuine desire to make a difference, I successfully built bridges and fostered a collaborative approach between students, staff and school leaders. This taught me to effectively manage my time, balance academic pursuit with sporting commitments as well as community service. In addition to academic accomplishments, I have excelled in the sport of swimming, pushing myself to achieve at national level competing in the Australian 5km Open Water Swimming. Through years of dedication and training, I have learnt discipline, perseverance and to have a goal-ordinated mindset. This has also provided me the opportunity to give back to a sport that has given me so much. I was selected as the regional athlete on the NSW Swimming Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) where we implemented initiatives such as “Beyond the Black Line” which created an environment where swimmers can share their challenges and experiences such as mental health in a safe and caring environment. Furthermore, in my spare time, I started a small business dedicated to reducing the number of pallets going into landfill and turning them into serving boards which has contributed to sustainability and conservation efforts. By repurposing and recycling these materials, I am doing my bit to reducing the impact of waste on the environment. The “Pallet to Plate” venture has allowed me to develop valuable business skills of project management, marketing, as well as negotiation which has contributed to positive change.
