Marcus grew up in rural Clarington Township and attended Queen’s University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in the automotive industry for 11 years in a variety of Engineering positions. Marcus has been married to his wife Theresa since 1994 and they are raising two children, Charlie and Fiona, near Uniondale.He got involved in politics through his community’s efforts to save A.J. Baker P.S. from closure, and was then motivated to run for Council to help further develop his community.Agriculture is important to him because he likes to eat. He has been a Zorra Council member since 2014, and this is his first term as Mayor and Oxford County Councillor.In that time he has also served on all Zorra Committees, on the Board of the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority, and currently as the Chair of the Oxford County Library Board, the Vice Chair of the Community Schools Alliance , and on the executive of the Top Aggregate Producing Municipalities of Ontario.He is motivated by emotion to find evidence and make policy that delivers for his community.
