As the Founding Director of the Gillis Jones Institute for Ethics and Leadership, I oversee the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that promote ethical leadership, civic engagement, and social justice among students, faculty, and community partners. With over 10 years of experience in higher education administration, I have a proven track record of creating and sustaining a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation in academic and student affairs.I also serve as the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Fayetteville State University, where I lead a diverse and dynamic faculty and staff in delivering high-quality education and research in the liberal arts and social sciences. As a historian and a scholar, I have published multiple books and articles on the history of African Americans in the military, and I have been recognized as an expert and a consultant on issues related to veterans health and well-being. I am passionate about advancing the mission and vision of historically black colleges and universities, and empowering the next generation of leaders and citizens.
