Senior Structural Designer - SubseaEnsco Plc Jan 2010 - Mar 2020London, Uk, GbFrom May 2010 to March 2012, I worked for Admiralty Marine and Structural Engineering as a contracted developer and standardizer of subsea technical documents and drawings required by the Bureau of Environmental Safety and Infrastructure (BESI) following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Additionally, I produced choke and kill manifold drawings for the American Petroleum Institute - section API53.In March 2012, I was hired by Ensco following their acquisition of Pride International, and served as the Senior Structural Designer Subsea for the company's fleet of 28 floating rigs and 54 jackups. As part of my role, I oversaw all drafting and design responsibilities for the subsea engineering and well control group, including 2D and 3D drawings, mechanical animations, and several patents. In July 2014, I attended Subsea Solutions' Well Control School, completing the Subsea 100 and 101 courses, and have since specialized in well control equipment, mud flow systems and components, rotating systems, mobile offshore drilling units, BOP Stack components, hydraulic connectors, annular BOPs, RAM BOPs, subsea gate valves, ball/flex joints, marine riser systems, diverters, motion compensation, and conventional and multiplex BOP control systems. One of my most notable career achievements is the design of Ensco's Continuous Tripping Technology (CTT), a patented system that fully automates the movement of the drill string into or out of a well at a constant controlled speed. Utilizing software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and 3D Studio Max, I created all 2D and 3D drawings, animations, and patents for the system. When deployed during offshore activities, CTT enables pipe-tripping speeds of up to 9,000 feet per hour, up to three times faster than current conventional stand-by-stand methods. The Continuous Tripping Technology was constructed on the Ensco-123 and was deployed on contract from 2016 to 2019. -
Structural DesignerAdmiralty, Marine & Structural Engineering, Inc. Jan 2007 - Dec 2010Houston, Texas, UsAs a Structural Designer, I was responsible for the design of various types of drilling rigs and oil field equipment, utilizing my expertise in structural and mechanical design. My responsibilities included designing land rigs with box on box substructures to walking rigs, jack-up rigs, semi-submersibles, and other oil field equipment, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards. In addition to design work, I was also responsible for on-site inspections to verify construction compliance with design specifications. I worked closely with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to review and approve design changes, as well as perform as-built drawing revisions. My attention to detail, technical expertise, and strong communication skills helped me effectively manage complex design projects, ensure project timelines were met, and deliver high-quality work to meet customer expectations. -

I also prepared and supervised a shop maintenance and management program, which involved overseeing a team of technicians and ensuring that all work was completed efficiently and to the highest possible standards. As a Mortarman (0341 MOS), I was responsible for the tactical employment of the 60mm light mortar and the 81mm medium mortar. In this position, I provided indirect fire support to the rifle and LARS quads/platoons/companies, as well as infantry and LAR battalions. I was responsible for ensuring that all firing was done safely and effectively, and that all equipment was properly maintained and stored. In my role as a Marine Corps Marksmanship Instructor (8531 MOS), I instructed fellow Marines in all aspects of the Marine Corps Marksmanship Program, including qualification and re-qualification on the known distance course of fire.
