I was a resident advisor during my Junior and Senior years at Cal Poly. As a resident advisor I looked out for the students living in my community as well as my fellow staff members. I organized events, helped students handle academic and personal struggles, and I ensured the safety of my community and helped mediate disagreements between students. I was nominated by my team for Resident Advisor of the year on account of my strong work ethic and leadership skills.

I assisted a Ph.D. student with his research into blood flow patterns using laser doppler flowmetry at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I helped conduct experiments, I analyzed data using MATLAB, and I helped write and edit technical reports and presentations. I was given a high performance review at the end of my internship and I showed strength and flexibility by overcoming cultural differences and language barriers.
