About Marcus Thomas

”If we chase perfection, we might catch excellence.”In my work, I am a catalyst. I seek change, because I believe in performance. And in business, as in sport, I believe performance has three main ingredients, Teamwork, Coaching, and Continuous Improvement. It starts with teamwork. If your team isn't functioning as a group, the competition will catch up. You can have a few star performers and expect them to carry the group – it is not sustainable. The group has to continue to develop to get stronger and faster, and to do this everyone has to be on the same page. If everyone's playing the same game, then everyone will be successful.Sustainable performance comes from continuing to develop people. Coaching is not a buzzword for me, it is a passion I live on a daily basis. The only way to improve is to work on making the team stronger - driving and mentoring those around you to improve performance. To me there is no end game. Continuous improvement is about continuing to build performance. Chasing perfection leads to continuous improvement. It is not about being the best, it is about continually getting better. Using lean tools is one thing, using lean principles creates sustainable improvement and development, not only your process but your team and business. We can't play a finite game, someone will always catch you up.

Listed skills include Maintenance Management, Mining, Cement, Management, and 43 others.
