Marcus Trimble is an architect with expertise in architecture and urban design, and with strengths in conceptual design, strategic planning, design communication, and project delivery. Marcus has extensive experience in the design and delivery of complex architectural and urban projects, and has lead design teams for many projects including university teaching and learning spaces, public primary and high schools, community facilities, industrial buildings, and urban precincts. Current projects include new public school projects for School Infrastructure NSW testing and developing the standardised hub layouts, as well as delivery through Modern Methods of Construction. These schools utilise mass timber structure, prefabricated timber walls floors and roofs, precast concrete stairs and walkways, and integrated services carrier frames to deliver classrooms and school facilities with natural finishes, in a flexible learning environment.School projects currently under construction include:- Gregory Hills Public School- Oran Park Public School - Ryde Secondary CollegeSignificant projects include the Carlingford West Public School, Cumberland High School, Devonshire Street mixed use development, the Macquarie University MUSE Big Desk Project, the Western Sydney Aerotropolis Northern Gateway Precinct (with Hill Thalis and JMD Landscape), theBrisbane Airport Property Master Plan (with Grimshaw), the Bays Precinct Public Open Space masterplan, and the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial.Marcus is a graduate of the University of Sydney. He worked with Lahz Nimmo and BVN on a broad range of architectural and urban projects, before founding the practice Super Colossal in 2007. In 2009 he established Bennett and Trimble with Matthew Bennett. Marcus ran the Pecha Kucha night in Sydney, a forum for creative industries, and has held teaching positions at the University of Sydney, the University of NSW the University of Technology, Sydney. Marcus is the recipient of the NSW Board of Architects Design Medal and the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship, has sat on the AIA Awards juries in 2007 and 2013.Marcus is a member of the City of Sydney and Canterbury Bankstown Local Planning Panels.
