As a Lead Transportation Security Officer, I'm tasked with being responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. I'm tasked with identifying, distributing, and balancing workloads and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow and skill level. I create adjustments to accomplish the workload in accordance with established priorities. My duties also include but are not limited to:• Providing input to supervisors and managers concerning a variety of human resources matters including, but not limited to, employee performance, promotions, reassignments, awards, etc.• Implementing security screening procedures in accordance with TSA objectives and directives.• Overseeing screening checkpoint(s) and/or baggage screening operations on a day-to-day basis to include equipment, personnel, and the scheduling and rotation of personnel.• Assisting with investigations of incidents, and preparing incident reports or other documents that convey required information.• Responding to breaches of security and emergency situations.• Training team members, monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work, and representing the team in communications with the supervisor or manager for the purpose of obtaining resources (e.g., computer hardware and software, etc.).

I was previously a Transportation Security Officer for the Transportation Security Administration which entails: Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/or on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircrafts. As well as filling out paperwork in order to relay the development of newly hired officers to supervisors, the training department, and upper management officials.• Compliance Insight ProgramIn May of 2023 I had the opportunity to shadow an aviation Transportation Security Inspector for the Transportation Security Administration. The Compliance Insight Program included a lengthy briefing provided by the AFSD-I including: where compliance work fits within the overall structure of TSA, an overview of the skill-sets that are favored by the TSI job analysis tool, examples of a typical operational week for a TSI, and examples of Inspections and Investigations that the office has conducted.

I was previously assigned as a Security Officer at Lydia Healthcare a mental health facility in Robbins, IL. My duties at Lydia Healthcare included screening employees for COVID-19 symptoms, recording the temperatures of all who enter and exit the building, checking bags for prohibited items such as weapons or other contraband, as well as receive any packages or any items dropped off to the facility by Amazon, FedEx, Food Delivery drivers, UPS, USPS, loved ones of the residents, etc. All deliveries and orders must be screened by security to ensure that they are safe to be in the facility per facility guidelines.I previously was assigned to Lathrop apartments in Chicago, IL my duties included checking IDs of all guests who entered the building and making a log of entry and exit times as well as the apartment that they visited. I conducted patrols including parking garages, resident parking lots, the apartment buildings and the Lathrop homes property including the river walk. We filled out reports when needed, as well as reported any unlocked doors, vandalism. We greeted residents and responded to calls made by them, drove around the community, and let the fire department or police department in as needed.
