•Provide emotionally supportive counselling for individuals of all, currently living through difficult situations or life transitions, including those living with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictions•Completed over 100 hours of training as a Crisis Hotline volunteer to support callers; focus given to topics including conflict and stress management, crisis intervention, communication, mental illness, and addictions•Caller reassurance program: extensive experience providing telephone supportive counselling and crisis intervention to Seniors who are isolated and marginalized on a daily basis and live with mental illness, addictions, and cognitive / brain based disabilities•Online and Texting Crisis Support: selected to partake in the pilot group of volunteers to initiate the soft launch of ONTX through the Distress Centres of Toronto•Provide crisis intervention and urgent suicide assessment to individuals in immediate risk of suicide on the 408 helpline and the Crisis Link Helpline - collaboration with TDC and Toronto Transit Commission•Assisted in training newly recruited volunteers on the crisis line by modeling skills and strategies learned in training with real-life callers•Ensuring effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of training activity•Gained knowledge in assessing and providing appropriate information on a wide variety of community resources and the variety of services offered•Experienced in utilizing iCarol for documentation and case management of the 408 Helpline

•Perform all supervision and personal care duties required by the residents during assigned shifts•Administering medication to the clients•Using crisis management to deal with situations that arise involving clients•Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions for the clients•Provide crisis intervention and implement client safety plans as well as provide support to other staff•Maintain complete and confidential case records and required program paperwork•Work cooperatively with other team members to carry out program goals and objectives•Manage the funds of the recipient’s and the agency

•Respond to and provide supports to communities experiencing trauma as a result of a violent incident•Assess community crisis/trauma situations and gather information regarding community impacts•Work alongside Community Development Officers to administer program and project budgets•Contribute-through management the implementation of crisis management protocols, strategic planning, policy development, and human resource development•Work independently on projects that will contribute to the education of communities and community organizations
