The Center for Technology in Molecular Medicine (CTMM) aims to create and consolidate a center for the development of PET/CT technology in the State of Minas Gerais. PET/CT is a diagnostic imaging test capable of detecting tumors anywhere in the body. The CTMM is also a center of excellence in interdisciplinary clinical and basic research in the area of neuroscience, including molecular and brain stimulation studies, including oncology, cardiology, psychiatry and neurology. This Center also houses the National Institute of Science and Technology in Responsible Neurotechnology (INCT-NeurotecR), which as one of its main objectives analyzes, develops and implements a responsible research and innovation platform. This approach, proposed by the Horizon 2020 Project (European Union), aims to anticipate the ethical, legal, scientific and social challenges raised by new neurotechnologies, as a way of overcoming these challenges. I accepted the challenge of structuring a Communication Office focused especially on Public Communication of Science at ICB UFMG, one of the largest teaching, research and extension centers in the field of Life Sciences in Brazil. I left a team of 1 journalist, 1 image editor, 1 secretary, 3 interns (2 journalism students, 1 Design and Animation Cinema student. The team, creative and innovative, is united, capable and committed to results.

The sector's role was to seek innovative ways of providing information on topics related to health sciences to specific audiences and non-specialists. This information should help members of these groups feel better and live longer, based on a better understanding of the meaning of health and illness. Strengthening scientific and technological culture in different age groups, education levels and sociocultural profiles, as well as providing information that can encourage the creation of evidence-based public health policies, are the main objectives of NDC-Medicina. With my departure to ICB, the sector was closed.
