HOMAGE Hotels was a project to highlight African American stories inside of hospitality environments in big cities across the country.I co-founded the business in summer 2016, went on to raise ~$350k in pre-seed dollars from some incredible angels, opened site #1 in NOLA summer 2018 to wide press & generated $100k+ worth of sellouts, raised another $30M+ of RE commitments for a handful of failed midsize hotel deals from HNWs & CRE institutions, and sold my position in the business to a 3rd party investor in Dec 2019 - a few months before the COVID-19 pandemic halted global travel.I got ahead of myself. 😓👨🏿‍💻
