Marcus Adolfsson is a General Partner at TampaBay.Ventures, which is focused on early-stage seed capital investments in the greater Tampa Bay region.Previously Marcus was active in the digital media space. He was the co-founder and CEO of Mobile Nations, a leading online media platform that empowered consumers to make smarter purchase decisions and get the most out of their tech-enabled lives. In February 2019 Mobile Nations was acquired by Future Plc, a British FTSE 250 company for $115m. After the acquisition, Marcus remained with Future for a year and a half to oversee the integration and to help build out new revenue streams. Before Mobile Nations, Marcus founded Smartphone Experts in 2004 at the dawn of the smartphone revolution. Smartphone Experts was a leading online retailer and manufacturer of smartphone accessories, ranking on the 2007 Inc. 500 list as the nation’s fastest-growing retailer. Marcus graduated from Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida in 2002.Outside of being an entrepreneur, Marcus’ passion is being an aviator. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot license and has landed in almost every state and crossed the Atlantic multiple times single-pilot. He is actively involved in several aviation associations.Marcus was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, and moved to Florida as a teenager along with his parents and siblings.
