Consulting Fellowship Co-FacilitatorHaas Undergraduate Black Business Association (Hubba) Feb 2023 - May 2023Berkeley, UsAs a Co-Facilitator of HUBBA's consulting fellowship, I work alongside my partner to set up weekly meetings for the admitted Black students interested in learning about consulting, attaining skills in business, and/or professionally developing themselves. In these sessions, we provide exposure to our resources and experiences as student-consultants, especially in the context of being an underrepresented minority in the space. My position isn't intended to be their teacher or something of the sort, instead, we want to be seen more as a resource that these students can use to help navigate their academic and career journeys. In these meetings, we really emphasize community and engagement, starting off with some ice breakers, presentations, and collaborative discussion for the first hour. Then, for the other remaining hour, we have them work hands-on on an activity/workshop related to the day's focus topic. Lastly, we'll give a small homework assignment for them to work on and present during the next session. The goal is to provide Black students with experience in consulting work and corporate practices so that they can be more confident and prepared when they are recruiting for these positions in the future, as we are a heavily underrepresented identity within the space and historically have had less access and exposure to resources that prepare us to thrive within it. -
