Served as an advisor for migrating an Online Document Management System to a new version based on Web 2.0 and AJAX.

Developed the architecture and large portions of the company website with Web 2.0 functionality to enhance the user experience. This site uses all custom code libraries for AJAX and PHP. Additionally a Web API was developed for custom interaction. An integral part of this web application was the ability for it to parse and store RSS data. Since few publishers of RSS follow standards completely, it was challenging to overcome an infinite number of potential errors. It was integrated into a Cron process that used PHP CLI to parse the RSS data and store it in a MySQL database. A standalone client for use on any portable storage device(most commonly MP3 players) performed a synchronization of its internal database and that of a user account in the web application. This was accomplished with bi-directional proprietery OPML and custom HTTP headers. Due to the large volume of data and to improve the user experience of the web application AJAX was used extensively. All AJAX funtionality was custom written. As a marketing tool, I created a custom MySpace layout to reflect the company website. The challenge of the project was to work within the strict contraints of MySpace such as retianing the core elements of the MySpace navigation and banner ads. Within SecondLife, using the proprietory scripting language of LSL I created widgets that used the Web API to allow users in SecondLife that also had an account with PodcastReady to subscribe to podcasts.

Built the company Intranet to be used as a portal & central location of multiple applications needed within the company. This has been updated & is now a single page site utilizing AJAX for all the interaction with the server through XHR using the OpenRico AJAX Library & Moo.Fx for visual transitions. These applications are: * Applicant Tracking System – This system is used to track the applicants that apply for positions at EFI. It records many details about the applicant that we use to comply with Federal & State Employment practices. * Employee Lookup – This is a quick lookup directory used by management to find employees. It is capable of searching on many different criteria including name, title, city, state, zip, branch, or phone number. In addition there is a map of the continental United States that allows the search of just one state, & there is an alphabetical listing of all the employees. * eForms – This is the central repository of all the documents used throughout the company in electronic format. All the files are separated into categories & have available descriptions. * Inventory Database – This is a searchable database for inventory tracking. It provides a breakdown of how many computers, printers, & network devices each office has, & their make/model.Built a secure document sharing application to provide clients with reports online.Redesigned & rebuilt the company website enhancing the usability & functionality.Built an Inventory Tracking application for keeping track of all equipment (computers, printers, networking) at our more that 27 locations nationwide.Built a Client Services Portal that houses multiple applications that are available to clients.
