Inspired by my father’s forward-thinking views on natural health & preventative medicine, I have spent the past 59 years committed to Complementary Medicines, Naturopathy and fighting for the regulation of Naturopaths and natural health products, to protect freedom of health choice. My journey began at Blackmores at just 18 years old, when the company was merely a small range of natural remedies in the complementary health market. Blackmores is now the number one natural health company in Australia with recognition across the Asia Pacific region, as the most trusted brand in natural health. Throughout the growth of the company, I served on the Board from 1973, transitioned to Executive Chairman until 2017 and finally Executive Director until 2020. The Blackmores Group achieved a well coveted place on the ASX 200 with a house of seven brands sold in 17 different markets. We are proud to be pioneers of innovative quality natural healthcare, bringing health and wellness to people everywhere, every day. Since stepping down as Executive Director, I am dedicated to my philanthropic endeavours through the Blackmore Foundation. Over the past few years, the Blackmores Foundation has donated $10 million to Southern Cross University, to establish a National Centre for Naturopathic Medicine, with a subsequent $10 million in partnership with the Blackmores Group donated to the National Institute of Complementary Medicine at Western Sydney University and $1.5 million in partnership with the Jacka Foundation and BioCeuticals to support two new research fellowships within the Australian Research Centre in Complementary and Integrative Medicine at UTS. The foundation, together with Blackmores has also continued a 40-year tradition with the Rotary to give charity food hampers to families who are less fortunate at Christmas. On top of my philanthropic endeavours, I hold an Honorary Doctorate from Southern Cross University for distinguished leadership in complementary medicines in Australia and an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Western Sydney University for distinguished services to business, charity and the broader community. I am an honorary trustee of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), an Alumnus of Harvard Business School, and an Honorary Fellow of the Heart Research Institute.
