Senior Systems Administrator/Senior Gis Analyst
Responsible for ensuring the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. Systems Analyst also plans, coordinates, directs, and designs the IT-related activities of the organization, as well as providing administrative direction and support for the daily operational activities of the IT department. Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices. Charged with installing, supporting and maintaining servers and other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and various other problems. Other duties included scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects, supervising and training computer operators, and consultant for computer problems beyond the knowledge of staff. A good deal of the work required working from within the command line on various different platforms to configure and/or troubleshoot the systems. Duties required the building of several Windows based servers from scratch (Server 2000, Server 2003, SBS 2003, Server 2008). Also required the installation, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange based email services (Exchange 5.5 and Exchange 2008). Created and maintained Microsoft AD Domain including, but not limited to user and group maintenance. Create and deploy policies using Microsoft GPO. Utilize WSUS to deploy and maintain updates on various Windows based operating systems. Install, configure, and SQL as the back-end for various programs. Configure and maintain various web and FTP sites and programs. Researched, implemented and maintained an FTP replacement solution (Linux based Allardsoft SFTA). Create and maintain the network backbone and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
