I'm a seasoned and successful technology professional -- a product manager, strategist, marketer and evangelist, leader, thinker, presenter, and writer focused on wireless, data analytics and AI, user experience, automation and APIs, cloud, 5G, and networking. Instead of boring you with the usual litany of MBA tech jargon (i.e. proven track record, results-oriented, data-driven, blah blah blah), here's a list of 10 personal convictions that drive my day-to-day work in tech: 1. Big things are made up of little things. The details are important. 2. Substance and style are both necessary for influence and outcomes.3. Leaders regularly articulate the big picture as a story.4. Owners are capable of and willing to dive deep and touch the finish line.5. Customers don't like, trust, or buy from companies; they like, trust, and buy from people that represent the company. Have fun and hire well. 6. Relationships at work can be professional and personal simultaneously.7. Healthy and respectful debate is necessary and productive.8. Humility, transparency, and conviction are a powerful combo of virtues.9. Insecurity leads to inaction; ego creates a toxic culture; but healthy personal pride drives excellence (a little OCD helps too). 10. I am not my work. My life's meaning comes from faith, family, and friends (and alliteration!).
