OrderWare Solutions is a leading provider of applications for time critical supply chain events and transactions. Marcus acquired the company in November 2001 (on behalf of Smarter Capital) from the receiver of the company. He drafted all documents to effect the acquisition including investor agreements, option schemes, employment contracts and played a key role in retaining key staff.He Chaired monthly board meetings and played a key role in strategy, senior executive employment negotiations and investor relations.

In September 2005, I moved to Malta. Malta is hybrid. It part of the EU and also offers significant tax incentives similar to "offshore" countries. I had already built a small portfolio of "equitymarket" domain names. I raised some capital from investors and modified an Open Source content management system to manage (what is now called) Equity Market Wisdom ( www.wisdom.to/equitymarket ).Engineering ideas into solutions was a challenge. My developers told me some things could not be done. However, I know they could given my experience developing commercial software as a teenager. After a few changes to developers, I finally found developers that could close close the gap between design and engineering. I tried developers from 3-4 different countries along the way. I also personally configured and currently maintain virtual servers on the Amazon cloud.I returned to Sydney in December 2007 (just before the GFC).

The company was established by Marcus Cake and Steve Killelea to build a portfolio of high growth technology companies with international potential.Marcus Cake was Managing Director of the company. Responsibilities included pursuing "opportunities", assessing investments, pursuing restructuring of failed companies, negotiation and documentation of investments, acquisitions, and acting as a non-executive director.Steve Killelea was the Chairman of Smarter Capital and is a prominent Australian information technology entrepreneur. Steve provided the initial capital.
