About Marcus Cleaves
I have built my career to date within financial services, developing in a company that has given me a multitude of opportunities and variety of business areas to work in.Having worked in various disciplines at mid and senior level I am now an IT Analyst Consultant in a centralised IT development department. Having previously worked as a Senior Business Analyst & IT BA lead I take an active role in developing, improving and supporting ways of working for the IT BAs, their development teams, and the wider project environment. My team is charged with leading the development of skills within our IT BA group and setting the standards for junior & senior members alike.From a delivery perspective I mainly focus on large project-based work and use all my experience & network to lead others in delivering technical solutions successfully. This involves working closely with the business stakeholders to understand their needs, finding synergies within the global architectural targets and challenging requirements and scope where appropriate. My team are often the front runners for these complex projects, getting involved early to offer our insight into project feasibility, areas of concern, and providing high level estimation on effort. My project role gives me the advantage to see things holistically. While the entire department is working on a multi-year, multi-region programme I'm tasked with keeping an eye on many moving parts to identify syngergies, dependencies and conflicts as well as oportunities to improve.
