In 2014, AECOM acquired URS forming one of the largest engineering firms in the world encompassing nearly 100,000 employees at 1000 sites in 48 countries. The combination initialized a reboot for most IT standards, roadmaps, processes and business functions. Since the merger, it has been my privilege to serve as the Principal Enterprise Architect responsible for the initialization, development, and management of the EA program. To facilitate the integration, I developed a maturity model to guide advancements in operational effectiveness, innovation management, and lifecycle planning.I currently preside over the Architecture Review Board (ARB) responsible for review for planning, compliance, security, risk assessment and continuity planning for AECOM. The EA program is powered by a global architecture team located across the Americas, EMIA, and APAC. The ARB reviews about $89M in technology solutions per year and maintains about $120M in lifecycle plans.
