Police Dog Handler
CurrentAs a General Purpose Police Dog Handler, I support officers by promptly responding to requests and providing professional expertise, tactical advice, and operational support on the frontline. I help locate evidence, vulnerable people, and offenders through directed patrols, supporting local officers and assisting in controlling disturbances to enhance officer and public safety.Leveraging my knowledge, training, and experience, I offer specialist advice to other operational policing units on deploying police dogs, contributing to the development of strategies and tactical plans. As a trained Tutor Constable, I mentor and coach less experienced dog handlers, assist with dog training, and address developmental issues. Additionally, I am a qualified Dog Legislation Officer (DLO) with expertise in dog legislation and banned breeds, recognised as an expert witness in this field.
