Vänersborg

I have been working with deploying network management system Cisco Prime Infrastructure as well as developing work processes for the network team at Västra Götalandsregionen (VGR). This included: IOS-release strategy, configuration templating and revisioning, naming conventions, design guidelines, documentation principles, and internal education. In essence, the goal was to quality assure network delivery and enable a common ways of working withing the network team.I was also part of the project introducing 802.1x port based network access control on VGR. The installation, being one of the largest in Europe, was built around Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). My role in the project was testing, rule set development, internal education and documentation of the technical solution.Below is a brief, not exhaustive, summary of projects I have been involved in at VGR•Introduction of Cisco Virtual Switching System at Uddevalla Sjukhus•Introduction of VoIP at Folktandvården and NU-sjukvården•Replacement of central network infrastructure for customers connecting to VGRnet. This project ranged from concept, testing, development and introduction to internal education•Technical expertise during government procurement of network communication services (sv. offentlig upphandling av datakommunikationstjänster)•Adaptation and deployment of QoS for Microsoft Skype for business•Network performance evaluation using IXIA Chariot•Network automation with Cisco Smartports and EEM

As a test environment engineer in the Global Test Environment Center team (GTEC) I provided test environment solutions to our customers. As both development and location of the nodes within Ericssons mobile packet core platform was spread over the world, the responsibilities of GTEC team was to interconnect these nodes and form one unified lab. These setups was then used for e.g. customer demonstrations, education, interoperability, and firmware upgrade tests.I worked mainly with routing/switching and firewalls from Cisco, Juniper and Netscreen but also deployed and maintained remote access solutions such as Ericsson Remote Support Gateway and Juniper SSLVPN. During this time I also learned a lot about collaborative work with other cultures, and because most spoken and written communication was in English my vocabulary improved in this area as well.
