Led the company through a downturn and a pandemic without losing the company's ability to deliver on the committed product developments and operational goals. Negotiated a complex sale of a business segment and ensured a smooth operational transition. Delivered with my team all required due diligence requests which resulted in a successful acquisition of the company after 7 months. During this time, I worked very close with the board of directors, the private equity partners and legal representation to ensure all aspects of a transaction were addressed and all company and employee needs were accounted for. After close of the transaction, I worked through a handover and transition of business.

Executive, Global Product Line leading all Baker Hughes Directional Drilling Services, including all services around our current product portfolio of Rotary Steerable, Coiled Tubing, Motors, MWD, Hole Enlargement, Liner Drilling, Coring, Wellbore Positioning and Drilling Engineering. Realizing strong sequential growth at 1.8x market rates, delivering a multi billion dollar revenue stream.

P&L responsibility for all Drilling Services, Coring, Surface Logging as well as Drill Bits and Hole Opening Product Lines in the Gulf of Mexico. During my lead the organization significantly grew market share by 900 bps to 51%. In 2014 my organization was recognized with a Chairman Award for HS&E and Operational Excellence reflecting back on 2 years incident free operation while delivering top quartile returns

P&L responsibility for the Drill Bit & Hole Opening product lines in the Gulf of Mexico. This position merged into the next by combining Drill Bits and Drilling Services as a result of my drive for integration. Restructuring the product offerings resulted in profitability growth from 54 to 63%. My organization was recognized in 2013 with a President’s Award for HS&E Excellence

In this position I was tasked with strategizing, defining and building various Service Solutions that combine multiple Drilling & Evaluation product lines into new deployable services. I established the strategy for Drilling Automation and related product development. This strategy is still executed today in a service called 'i-Trak".

My responsibilities included development of a new product line strategy, manage commercialization of the new products within this strategy, and ultimately maximizing the gross margin of my product lines in todays competitive market. In this role I maintained competitive and market information to successful drive pricing schedules and guidelines for global market segments. All product lines are underlying strict life cycle management that require close interaction with other businesses in Baker Hughes to optimize the overall company product portfolio. Part of my responsibility was to maintain technical core competence across company for my product lines.My Product Line Portfolio included:The Baker Hughes Hole Enlargement (GaugePro, RWD, Bicenter Bit technology), the Bit-Sensing and all Casing and Liner Drilling Product Lines.

In this short strategic assignment, I delivered the market segmentation and product requirements for a new Rotary Steerable System, today “AutoTrak Curve” is the highest performing RSS in the unconventional market.

In my previous position I was managing vision and purpose of the regional Repair & Maintenance (R&M) organization. Being a leader for ongoing organizational change I ensured that my organization was well positioned in a rapidly evolving, dynamic and ambiguous environment. I was responsible for planning and executing the R&M strategy for the NA Region. This included the constant drive for standardized processes and procedures, in depth headcount and succession planning, Employee Development & Talent Management, non-rental Capex planning to support the NA revenue plan and foremost a strong focus on the Health-Safety & Environmental aspects of R&M. In this role I liaised between R&M, Operations and the INTEQ executive leadership team and I ensured highly productive relationships with other organizational leaders for the overall benefit of the organization. I continuously drove quality initiatives through process improvement methods adopted by the division, encouraging opportunities for improvements, also monitored failure review processes & corrective action implementation.I was responsible for over 580 employees in 14 facilities in three countries and I successfully managed the R&M P&L of over $150M.

As the Advanced Drilling Systems (ADS) Manager I was responsible for the AutoTrak, OnTrak, CoPilot and VertiTrak drilling systems product lines in the Gulf Coast Area, East Coast Canada and Trinidad & Tobago. Main objective in managing these product lines was to optimize the overall margins for the operative area. It included strategic and immediate operative market decisions and deployment opportunities. I was in constant contact with our customers to promote, follow up and technically assist in critical deployment questions as well as our Marketing department to communicate the customer needs for future considerations. In addition to the ADS responsibilities I managed a multi cultural Drilling Engineering group in various geographic locations. As the Engineering Manager I provided a unified and customer oriented vision to our Engineering Teams in Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, Lafayette, St. John’s (Canada) and Port of Spain (Trinidad). Part of the Engineering tasks included accountability for the Survey Management & Wellbore Positioning of the INTEQ Gulf Coast well bores.

As the Technical Services Manager I supported with the Technical Services (TS) group all Drilling & Evaluation downhole tools and services. The Global Technical Services department was instrumental in defining the market drivers and translating them into Engineering Functional Needs. After tool prototyping TS group was responsible for System Integration & Field Test of all new technologies and establishment of all operative documentation. In this function I supervised a global operating Technical Services team in Houston and Aberdeen (UK) in close alignment with a German based TS Manager.

In this role I provided technical support for conventional Drilling Systems Tools and special applications including motor application, automated drilling systems, Coiled Tubing BHA, Coring, and Survey Systems. I supervised a global team in Houston, Celle (Germany) and Aberdeen (UK).

DeepVision was a JIP funded by multiple international operating companies while owned and operated jointly by Baker Hughes and Transocean. During this time I provided coordination and project management for the downhole tool development of Dual Gradient Drilling (DGD) specific tools and drilling services. During the developmental phase I maintained close relationships with INTEQ on drilling BHA related component development for DeepVision. I coordinated completion specific DGD tools with Weatherford & Baker Oil Tools. In a later phase all well planning aspects were handled by me that included the development and risk assessments of new processes to perform DGD Hydraulics and DGD specific Well Engineering. This project was closed after successful proof of concept of a Subsea Pump Station and field testing of DGD tools.

I was responsible for the introduction and support of drilling performance tools in the eastern hemisphere and I worked extensively offshore North Sea, Central Europe and in China. During this time I gave various training courses on performance drilling, Torque & Drag, Hydraulics and BHA Analysis. In August 1987 I relocated to Houston to introduce these drilling performance improvements in the western hemisphere where I worked offshore Trinidad, Alaska, Venezuela and the US. During this time I also worked as Drilling Systems Coordinator for 5 1/2 weeks in Trinidad (vacation relief, special request by customer).

During my undergraduate time and after my intermediate degree I continuously worked at the Institute of Petroleum Engineering as an assistant engineer. During this time I worked extensively on oilfield tubing fatigue tests for various international suppliers.
