Have you ever walked through a forest, bare footed, looking up at the vast number of trees and their canopies, and just thought about how peace and tranquility comes together? This is my reality three times a year when I visit my cottage near Rutherglen, East of North Bay. I have always had an interest and awe of the wild nature, but was never exposed to the depths of plant science and cultivation before I began post-secondary education.In my two years of studies at Durham College, I could not have guessed where Horticulture has taken me today when I first embarked on my journey into the working world. My perspectives has shifted towards a common goal, to cultivate this world into an era where nature and humans coincide with no consequences. As a graduated Horticulturalist, the knowledge and experience I gained in my two years of studies has really opened my eyes to so many great possibilities in life. Of all the knowledge I have attained, I have a genuine interest and passion for the cultivation/management of farm crops in greenhouses and fields, uses and benefits of plants in the creation of sustainable garden landscapes, and developing IPM and Plant Health Care strategies. Above all I am focused in growing within the Arboriculture industry. Currently I work for Ground Hawk Services, working towards my certification as an arborist.
