My main purpose as a Systems Engineer was supporting account teams ranging from commercial to public and the Swedish cloud service providers (CSP). High focus on infrastructure architecture and solution design based on workload analysis, PoC and real life testing. A presale role with high focus on continuity and people skills to become the customers trusted advisor over time.

As a Datacenter Specialist I cared for a portfolio of around 10 to 15 IT intensive customers. Our business was to a large degree as a datacenter partner, but other LOBs were handled by Infront sales. Focusing on relation and being very close to the customers IT and daily operation. With so few customers I met with many of them several times per week, and were deep into their operations, included in team meetings and knew their challenges very well.

I started my time at Dustin as a general datacenter specialist, supporting all nordic countries on datacenter solutions for small and medium sized customers. After about 4 months I was promoted to Infrastructure Sales Specialist. As a resource to relation sales and specifically a new pilot team of 8 account managers, inexperienced with selling infrastructure. I educated and supported them as a presale with all technical aspects. The results were great and this model with an early dedicated specialist is still what they use today with new sales teams.

My role as a consultant was a bit new here. Load were very experienced in IBM Power, old legacy systems, Mainframe, tape and Linux/AIX. But the world of virtualized hardware, VMware and SSD storage were new to them and their customers. I did the whole chain from first customer visits to planning and design, to later on doing the actual implementation of sold systems. Additionally I designed and operated the internal IT showroom at the office, showcasing our neat installation techniques for cabling and a multitude of server and storage systems we regularly sold. All running on bleeding edge servers running VMware, Windows and Solid State Storage in first generation V7000 StoreWize.

My role at Inuit was as a product specialist for SOPHOS Antivirus as well as their larger mail and web security systems. As well as the PRISM software suite from New Boundary Technologies. The Prism suite was a solution for software deployment in large enterprises. I did first and second line support for these solutions as well as aiding resellers with presale aid and ultimately implementation jobs as a consultant.
