Embarking on his third independent venture, Grant is the founder and CEO of Twentythree12 Talent Management group. He represents Grammy award-winning artists like Toni Braxton, Kelly Rowland, and Big Boi, one-half of the Diamond-selling group Outkast.Born in Compton, California, Marcus attributes his work ethic to his modest upbringing. His father worked at General Motors for 35 years, and his mother was a cafeteria worker for 25 years. Over the last 20 years, Grant has established, reinvented, and created some of the music industry's successful entertainers. Before Twentythree12, Marcus oversaw the Collective Music Group’s urban music division expanding the firm’s talent roster by 30%.After majoring in psychology at California State Dominguez, Grant’s first foray into artist management started with the then relatively unknown gospel group, Mary Mary. Under Grant’s guidance, the duo became platinum-selling gospel artists. In 2003 Grant joined The Firm, where he handled acquiring and assisting the careers of 112, Lionel Richie, and Maxwell. In 2006, Marcus struck out on his own once more to start his own company, Oralee Management. He took 112 with him and managed other artists such as the Grammy-winning hip-hop star Chamillionaire and Jamaica’s sensation Brick and Lace.With Grant’s professional accomplishments, he is always finding ways to pay it forward by giving back. He’s an influential member of City of Hope’s (A Leading Cancer research hospital) Music Executive Committee. After losing his mother to ovarian cancer in 1999, Marcus decided to take an active role in the ongoing fight against cancer. Additionally, Grant sits on The Los Angeles Dodgers RBI Advisory Committee.Grant has served as SVP of Digital Commerce/Streaming Strategy for Def Jam Recordings, overseeing playlists strategy, consumption growth, and Channel Marketing. He is currently consulting for APG. Experienced Strategist with A demonstrated history of working in the music industry. And skilled in Digital Strategy, Music Publishing, Advertising, and Music Licensing. Strong arts and design professional graduated from California State University-Dominguez Hills.
