I have thoroughly enjoyed a multifaceted career spanning over two decades as a leader in workforce development, education, and financial services.After receiving my Bachelors Degree in Finance, I was blessed to start my career in financial services, working with multiple federally designated Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) as a Small Business Loan Officer. By facilitating over $100MM in small business and commercial loans, I enjoyed the feeling of playing a pivotal role in fostering the growth of hundreds of businesses across diverse sectors, including the vital technical assistance and financial support to underserved communities throughout the country.I later had an opportunity to return to my alma mater, Metropolitan State University of Denver, as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship, delivering comprehensive coursework in the classroom and virtually (very pre-pandemic), equipping hundreds of students with the knowledge and skills necessary to transform their business ideas into reality. After a fulfilling 20+ year career in the small business sector, I received an opportunity to enhance my career in government and institutional leadership in 2019. As the first Apprenticeship Grant Manager for the Colorado Community College System, and later as the statewide Apprenticeship Manager at the Technical College System of Georgia, I have had the distinct pleasure of working alongside a new group of passionate professionals to spearhead initiatives that expand US DOL Registered Apprenticeship Programs, secure funding, and forge partnerships between educational institutions, businesses, and government agencies.The experiences I've gained from managing multi-million-dollar grants, facilitating the registration of hundreds of new apprentices, and providing crucial support to over 1,000 small and mid-size businesses, has reinforced my commitment to creating opportunities, fostering collaboration, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. I am now able to merge those experiences into my current role as a Registered Apprenticeship Consultant supporting employers, educators, and the communities they serve by providing education and resources in support of US Dept. of Labor workforce objectives.
