Higher education thrives when tailored, innovative operational, administrative, and teaching strategies embrace new knowledge and technology, encourage and promote faculty, and empower students to pursue interests and maximize learning potential. The focus of my career has been on fostering positive learning experience by continuously seeking ways to improve operations, administration, instruction, and curriculum. My passion for keeping pace with emerging teaching methods, tools, and technologies is evidenced in my recent design, development, and launch and accreditation of a cutting-edge online Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree program that utilizes a highly-engaging, personalized video-based learning management system. To date, the program has enrolled more than 800 students and meets educational criteria for licensure in 49 states.My contributions to higher education range from full professor ranking to department chair and academic dean. I’ve been involved in every phase of program development, including conducting market analyzes, building advisory boards, recruiting and hiring faculty, developing course outcomes and assessments, and monitoring student success through data analysis. A few of my highlights include: Designed and implemented a process to more effectively evaluate the achievement of program outcomes. Spearheaded programs and curriculum design using pedagogy grounded in learning science principles. Collaborated in the design of an innovative faculty assessment model. Oversight of dozens of faculty assessments and evaluations. Assisted with self-study regional accreditation process for two institutions, and served on numerous NEASC/NECHE evaluation teams. Supervised the accreditation process for several programmatic accreditation self-studies. Subject matter expert in psychology and mental health counseling.
