At the beginning of the project, we outlined the ultimate goals and she taught me the the techniques I needed to know to accomplish them. I was then able to work independently and come to her for trouble-shooting and data interpretation. I have had several mentors who are either too hands-off or too hands-on. Marcy maintains a happy medium. On top of her mentoring and teaching abilities, Marcy and I have maintained a friendship after I left her lab. She is personable and a great communicator."
