* Plan and implement media programs for major health & medical conferences. * Media & communications support for health organisations e.g. national charity Bowel Cancer Australia - across community awareness, education, patient support, research and advocacy initiatives. Writing copy for websites, newsletters, brochures, annual reports & other marketing materials; media releases and media liaison.

Responsiblities included delivering enterprise-wide corporate communications, executive management team scripts & presentations, annual report and flagship publication 'Our Story'.

Responible for promoting Griffith's rapidly expanding Health Group which comprises teaching programs in a wide range of health disciplines as well as a strong health and medical research program. * Planning, writing for and editing a range of publications including student recruitment materials; internal communications such as staff and student newsletters; and high-level profiling documents such as Griffith’s flagship publication RED. * Media relations including writing media releases and backgrounders for journalists, speech writers and senior management. Provision of in-house media training.* Integrated marcomms - working closely with marketing colleagues in identifying key messages and priority areas for the Health Group marketing and communications plan.

Clients included national health and medical organisations such as the Australian Lung Foundation, Gastroenterological Society of Australia and Australian Hepatitis Council. Responsibilities included: • identify/provide advice on news opportunities/communication strategies • research and write media releases, fact sheets, pitch documents for consumer and medical media • write/edit copy for clinical handbooks, case statements, print newsletters, websites• project manage, content development and production electronic newsletters• media liaison.

Regular contributor of news and feature stories to national medical newspaper, Australian Doctor. News component included clinical news, clinical conference reports and medico political stories. Feature stories include in-depth clinical stories, medicolegal issues, training issues for GP registrars, profiles of key people in medicine, and practice profiles.Occasional contributor to other specialist publications such as US and Australian editions of the consumer magazine, The Art of Cosmetic Beauty, Laboratory News, Medical Imaging & Monitoring, Food Processor.
