Oftentimes communication trainings are ineffective because they explore communication on a superficial level. They look at how you speak or how to listen closely instead of taking a more holistic approach that considers listening, thinking and speaking all at once. Communication is dynamic and therefore does not conform to uniform “rules” to follow, rather, you need to develop skill sets that can be applied to a range of different situations, because no instance is the same. Instead of teaching general guidelines, we provide you with the tools needed to evaluate scenarios on a case-by-case basis using your Oracy, which fosters more effective communication both on a person-to-person level as well as enhancing the overall quality of communication in a group setting.

Having been a part of the global debating community for almost a decade, one of the things we’ve noticed is that in the Netherlands there is a lack of English debate tournaments for secondary school students. In an attempt to make debating more accessible for non-Dutch speakers, while at the same giving Dutch students the opportunity to practise speaking in English, we have launched an initiative: the International Schools Debating League!We hope that these events will inspire and fuel the debating community!
