About Michele (Ranese) Redding
My husband, Chris, and I own Cuckoo’s Inc which operates 3 businesses in Durango, Colorado. We opened Cuckoo’s Chicken House & Waterin’ Hole in 1999. Cuckoo’s is a full service, casual family sorts restaurant specializing in Broasted chicken, featuring our world famous wings with over 20 wings sauces. In 2013, we opened the Animas City Theatre (ACT) a live music venue and independent movie theater. The ACT ha a state of the art sounds and lighting system and features live music a couple times a week, with local, regional, and national touring musicians. The theater shows arthouse films, National Theater Live and Bolshoi Ballet productions, as well as hosting community events, fundraisers, and school events. In 2018 we opened The Roost restaurant, located upstairs from Cuckoo’s and connected to the theater. The Roost’s bar and lounge has an amazing view of Main Street. The Roost menu features elevated American comfort food including bacon wrapped meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and Prime Rib.
