I am a senior public policy professional with significant experience in leading complex, cross-government strategies, policies and programmes. I am skilled in both people and policy leadership and bring a strongly relational approach to my work. I am drawn to opportunities that involve enhancing partnerships with Iwi, hapū and Māori organisations and with diverse communities to identify and achieve shared goals. I also bring strong experience in governance and organisational strategy. I have worked at the political interface with Prime Ministers, Ministers, chief executives and other senior leaders in and outside of government through much of my career and had the opportunity to work on a range of major, cross-cutting projects, including the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned, and New Zealand’s ground-breaking child poverty legislation and Child and Youth Wellbeing Strategy. Other key work areas have included MSD’s partnering strategy, early years policy and service commissioning, whānau and community support, employment and income, youth development, family violence prevention, care and protection, arts and cultural policy and commissioning, Crown entity monitoring and international cultural diplomacy.
