Strong risk management and assurance programs have been utilised to drive results. My passion rests with 'Safety Culture' after the opportunity to project manage the implementation of recommendations from a safety research project by Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC). Also integrated through work at Bauer Media, and Arts Centre Melbourne. The power of enabling a safety culture with an OHSMS was realised. Completed a 6 month fixed term position at Bauer Trader Media, publishing. A risk management project which successfully established risk controls, simple documentation and worker engagement for the high risk 'Test & Shoot' activities for the lifestyle publications and digital media in Melbourne. This included motoring, travel & outdoor, and transport and equipment. Engagement at all levels and ensuring relevancy commensurate to the organisations activities and safety maturity were the keys to success. It was wonderful to see such a positive shift in the safety culture; an area I am passionate about. Systems, compliance and risk management, while essential are all interdependent and truly effective with a positive culture.

Following a company restructure where Qantas acquired 100% ownership of AaE and integration into Qantas Freight. The corporate positions were redundant;. However a fixed term position was offered and accepted as Safety Improvement Facilitator. The position incorporated project management for the transition from the AaE WHSE management system to the Qantas Freight Enterprises Management System(QFEMS), and implementation of the recommendations from a cultural research project. The research was undertaken at AaE in 2013 in collaboration with Monash University Research Centre (MUARC). Both projects were successfully implemented with positive results; a 98% audit compliance in February 2014 with the QFEMS; and all actions implemented as per the Plan and a strengthened safety culture across the freight business.
