Safety Specialist
CurrentThis position reports directly to the safety director for the stack division. This position supports the health and safety team as well as the day-to-day safety performance for the stack division of Montrose. This position has the specialist working in a flexible manner that involves both travel to client sites as well as hybrid work. Some examples of work performed include but are not limited to: accident investigation, toolbox talk generation, relationship building throughout the division, PPE assessments and evaluations, and report creation. Key Contributions:* Built interpersonal relationships with the entire safety team including safety director.* Drove standardization of HSE practices through a team effort of continuous improvement.* Provided HSE support to clients that include major refineries, chemical plants, and power plants.* Worked with line management to proactively ensure compliance with HSE regulations.* Performed written program audits, tacked action items to completion, and assisted local offices in completing necessary HSE tasks.* Inspected workplace environments, activities, and conditions to verify compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations. * Measured and reported on KPIs and utilized HSE systems to foster improved HSE performance.* Investigated and documented incidents with local teams and developed meaningful corrective actions.* Prepared periodic safety posters, toolbox talks, safety meeting materials, and newsletters.
