Head of the global sales, marketing and service activity for Meggitt SA’s Energy business.Led a global team of 60 individuals with overall responsibility for several remote salesofficed in key locations. P&L responsibility for the sales organization and accountable forsales processes and KPI’s such as budgeting, production forecasting etc.Member of the business unit’s management team responsible for overall strategy, executionand financial results.Key achievement: achieved double-digit sales orders growth after years of declining saleswhile increasing sales profitability.

Heading the European and global channels (worldwide distributor network) sales teams(~20 direct and indirect reports, including 4 remote sales offices) for Meggitt’s “Energy”business unit. Engaged in numerous strategic activities (e.g. assessments of acquisitiontargets, opening of new offices, definition of technology and product roadmap).Key responsibilities:- Responsible for the go-to market strategy and implementation thereof- Top line and margin responsibility for the region with a turnover of ~25 MEur- People management and providing leadership to sales and administrative staff- Strategic responsibility as member of the business unit’s management team

- Responsible for sales of MSS's energy products in Switzerland, Austria and Sweden- Achieve sales budget and deliver growth across assigned markets- Handling key OEM customers as well as end users- Propose technical solutions as well as negotiating pricing and contractual terms- Providing accurate forecasts for financial and production planning

Main activities:- Attract new clients & interface with existing clients- Contract negociations with clients & suppliers- Analyze production costs & establish sales price- Presenting products to clients, attend trade fairs etc.- Support the R & D effort

- Coordinated research project in the field of Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM) using novel sensors previously developed- Reported research findings in two journal papers - Trained incoming research assistant/Ph.D. student to take over ongoing research projects

- Participated in a European research project funded by the European Commission's Future Emerging Technologies (FET) program- Developed novel optical sensors and high speed electronics for biological imaging applications - Worked closely with industrial (several stays and weekly phone calls with ST Microelectronics) and academic partners- Published research results in internationally recognized scientific journals and conferences (18 publications in total)- Defined and supervised student projects for master projects and labs
