Leading and Managing teams of 6-20 Software Engineers in Air Defense Software DevelopmentIn my role, I lead a team of 6-20 software engineers in developing advanced software solutions, with a particular focus on enhancing situational awareness for air defense applications.The solution I'm building provides the ability to automatically detect, classify, and alert users of anomalous behavior in multi-domain environments. This is achieved by integrating large-scale data fusion with advanced AI modeling.Key Responsibilities:* Project Leadership: Steered air defense-focused software project from conceptualization to full functionality and demonstration.* Requirements Translation: Expertly converted requirements outlined by the Business Development team into actionable engineering tasks, ensuring alignment with project objectives.* System Architecture Involvement: Actively participated in the System Architecture Design process, contributing to the development of robust and efficient software solutions.* Cross-Team Synchronization: Coordinated effectively with various teams, ensuring seamless integration and synchronization across departments for optimal project outcomes.* Team Management: Oversaw the day-to-day management and career development of a team ranging from 6 to 20 engineers, depending on the project phase. This role involved mentoring, guiding, and scaling the team to meet evolving project demands.

In this role I was managing virtualised CMTS and FMA MAC Manager development with a team of about 40 software engineers split across 5 cross-functional scrum teams.The company and product development cycle was following the LeSS (Large Scale Scrum) organizational systemKey Responsibilities:* Vision and Strategy: Defined and communicated the product vision and strategy* Backlog Management: Prioritized and managed the product backlog, ensuring a clear understanding of work items among the development team. Balanced new features, maintenance, and technical debt to maximize product value.* Stakeholder Collaboration: Acted as the primary liaison between stakeholders, including customers, business teams, and development teams. Gathered and integrated feedback to inform product development and enhance user satisfaction.* Requirement Analysis: Analyzed market and customer needs to develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. Ensured requirements were clearly defined and understood for efficient and effective implementation.* Roadmap Planning: Created and maintained a product roadmap that provided a long-term view of product goals, milestones, and deliverables. Communicated roadmap updates to all relevant parties.
