Synthesized a Nuclear Localization Sequence Peptide conjugates with carboplatin like complexes.o Developed the NLS-Pt conjugate with superior solubility over 10-20 folds better than any commercially available platinum anticancer drug as well as superior in vitro activity, including platinum resistant cell lines. Synthesized biocompatible and biodegradable PLGA-Gold-Platinum nanoparticles. o Modified gold nanoparticles with various chelating ligands suitable to complex platinum (II), Including cisplatin and carboplatin like complexes.o Optimized the nanoparticle formulation for better stability in serum and storage.o Observed a superior in vitro activity of the NP platform vs the free drug. Synthesized PLGA-Platinum nanoparticles bearing DNA-aptamer based active targeting and pH-responsive phospholipid coating. o Synthetically modified PLGA with carboplatin like complexes.o Conjugated DNA aptamers with phospholipids.o Synthesized pH-responsive phospholipid-PEG conjugate for pH triggered aptamer exposure resulting in enhanced binding of nanoparticles to protein receptors. o Observed a superior in vitro activity of the NP platform vs the free drug, as well as sufficient accumulation of NPs in tumor tissue, in vivo. All nanoparticles and organic/organometallic compounds were purified, fully characterized and tested in vitro using ovarian cancer cell line model. Managed initial set up of the new laboratory and personnel schedules of the laboratory.
