Report to various long term care facilities across Edmonton to provide staffing support mainly within the charge nurse role. Supervise and provide support to LPNs, and healthcare aids on staff. Manage staffing and perform scheduling duties to cover sick calls or short staffing. Utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to address any concerns or issues that arise and put to use clinical skills to assess and intervene. Utilize excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to new environments to provide the best possible care to residents. With multidisciplinary team to coordinate and facilitate care of residents. Became well versed in adapting to new work environments and integrating into existing facilities' care teams.

Royal Alexandra Hospital- Emergency

Completed assessments and interventions, care planning, implementing prescribed treatments, administering medications, evaluating treatments, and monitoring/documenting treatment progress and patient/resident response. Acted as an advocate, coordinator and liaison for the patient/resident, work within the multidisciplinary team to identify patient needs. Provided teaching to patients and family members and provide discharge planning. Experience interacting with vulnerable populations and de-escalating tense or volatile situations. Became comfortable working in a faced paced environment and adapting to ever changing work environment.

Westview Health Center- Emergency

Provide initial assessment and write up of patients received into ER. Obtain and monitor patient's vital signs, collect blood, urine and other required samples for laboratory assessment. Maintain and update patient charting. Perform EKG’s and continuous cardiac monitoring. Prioritize patients based on need. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Clean and maintain assessment beds or rooms. Assist in code situations, procedural sedations, and various nursing procedures as needed or requested by physicians. Answer unit phones providing information, taking messages or directing calls as necessary. Interact and coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team.
