As R&D Lead I am taking a pivotal role in driving product development from ideation to launch. Investigation and development of an in vitro permeation model using self-nanoemulsifiying drug delivery systems

As an R&D Working Student at GNA Biosolutions, a thriving biotech company specializing in in vitro diagnostic devices, I played a pivotal role in assay development for infectious diseases and quality control. My main tasks and contributions included:• Production of in-house developed reaction plates for PCA (pulse-controlled amplification) devices, ensuring their quality and functionality.• Being an integral part of the R&D team from March 2020 to December 2021, focusing on research and development of PCA test assays for various infectious diseases. This involved conducting experiments, analyzing data, and refining assay designs.• Actively participating in weekly team meetings, presenting research findings, and contributing to scientific discussions.• Conducting error analysis for the IVD tests, identifying, and resolving technical issues to ensure optimal performance.• Part of the QC team (Nov 2020) and being responsible for batch release of assay reagents and reaction plates, assessing contamination levels and confirming the absence of RNAses.• Successfully managing daily workflows that involved the safe handling of infectious sample material, preparation of DNA and RNA in the thermocycler, and performing PCRs and PCAs in the Light Cycler and in-house developed IVD devices.• Starting in May 2021, I became part of the Product Development Team, where I focused on assay development for a sample-to-answer IVD device. This involved sample preparation of various specimen types, including mainly sputum, and naso-/oropharyngeal samples/swabs.Throughout my tenure at GNA Biosolutions, I demonstrated strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic assays.
