• Develop minimally invasive Raman Spectroscopy tool, using multivariate spectral analysis to predict functional properties of degenerating articular cartilage.• Design an independent project using MATLAB to investigate bone interference in Raman IR, utilizing phantoms to enhance precision of analysis.• Collect Raman spectra, COL, and GAG levels on a substantial dataset of equine cartilage samples, appropriately handling and organizing over 50 samples per condyle.• Implement more efficient DMMB assay protocols to increase usable GAG concentration results by 50%.• Teach sample collection, mechanical testing, and Raman procedures to rotating graduate students.
