Field ecologist assisting with a diversity of ecological monitoring and management projects at three AWC sanctuaries situated across NSW (North Head, Manly; Scotia (SW NSW) and the Pilliga National Park). Worked both independently and collaboratively with field survey teams to complete various flora and fauna surveys, including nest box inspections; spotlight surveys of threatened species; pitfall, funnel, cage and Elliot trap surveys for reptiles, small mammals and invertebrates; radio-tracking threatened species; and camera trapping. Ecological surveys were conducted within multiple NSW vegetation communities (e.g. Sydney Coastal Dry Sclerophyll Forests, Wallum Sand Heath, Sydney Coastal Heath, Littoral Rainforest, and Western Slopes Dry Sclerophyll Forest).

Masters of Research: Responsible for leading a threatened species research project, which involved undertaking: stakeholder engagement; scientific research license and ethics application preparation, consistent with environmental legislation requirements; desktop research; survey design; field surveys (camera trap and plot- and transect -based vegetation surveys); data collection and analysis; and reporting (research reports for scientific license requirements, a thesis, and a scientific publication). - Utilised interpersonal skills to initiate a collaborative threatened species research project with Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and National Parks and Wildlife Services (NPWS). - Researched environmental legislation to successfully obtain animal ethics and scientific research licenses, as required under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and Animal Research Act 1985. - Conducted field surveys in remote bushland, working with a small team in difficult terrain requiring high fitness levels to deploy and retrieve 431 camera traps and complete 170 habitat assessments ( identifying dominant tree & shrub species; measuring canopy cover, ground cover, soil moisture, litter depth, tree DBH; and counting hollows). - Identified, gathered, and analysed multiple datasets (e.g. occurrence records, vegetation plot data) for use in species distribution modelling and other regression modelling. - Created high quality maps in ArcGIS. - Undertook fauna identification from camera trap images, successfully identifying 45 species, including two threatened mammal species.Research Associate - Utilised research skills to identify information sources (e.g. PlantNet, APNI, NSW WeedWise) and prepared a plant trait database for ~ 200 invasive plant species for a weed threat assessment tool: WeedFutures. - Managed timelines and successfully delivered data analyses on time and received positive praise from the Head of Biology Department.

Secured a contract with the Office of Environment and Heritage to lead a threatened species survey to monitor the distribution of the Long-nosed Potoroo (Potorous tridactylus) under the Saving our Species program within Barrington Tops and Royal National Parks, NSW. - Deployed and retrieved 95 baited camera traps in remote areas within agreed budget and timeframe, which resulted in successful detection of the species. - Proven physical fitness, walking up to 18km/day in challenging terrain to access remote sites. - Assessed fieldwork risks and liaised with NPWS personnel during planning and field trips to establish and discuss field OH&S protocols, ultimately ensuring safety protocols implemented and forming strong networks with local staff.
