Welcome! My name is Maggie Dougherty and I was born and raised in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Bishop Shanahan High School in 2019, I decided to pursue my dream of working in media and headed for New York. I studied Digital Media and Production at Iona University, graduating in May of 2023.At Iona, I was a part of the Honors Program and I also joined several media organizations. I was the editor-in-chief of The Ionian newspaper, a job which includes writing and editing articles as well as collaborating with other editors to come up with story ideas. I was also the vice president for the WIUR radio station, where I maintained the studio and assisted members with their shows.From January to April 2022, I worked as a production intern at LMC Media in Mamaroneck. My duties included editing and producing various different projects, including promotional videos, PSAs, and news packages.From September to December 2022, I worked as a digital media intern at Iona University's Marketing and Communications office. My duties included assisting with the filming and editing of videos for Iona's website and social media.From January to December 2023, I was an editorial intern at Adventure Media & Events in NYC. My duties included writing and posting news articles on the latest toys, merchandise, and collectibles on WordPress. I also pitched feature article ideas.I have always been interested in news, politics, sports, pop culture, and comedy. My goal is to combine these interests in a career as a producer or writer. I am ambitious, hard-working, and eager to see where the future takes me.
